The Wild in the Parks was born when we noticed something needed to change in the amateur skateboard contest scene. We decided to take a different path, a road less traveled, and offer something new and entirely different. We came up with an event format that alleviates both stress and boredom while increasing involvement. The Wild in the Parks is for young up and coming skaters to come out and show their skills. Think of the event like three best trick contests; skaters are judged on the tricks they pull in three separate park “zones”, never on their bails. Wild in the Parks is about giving back to the skaters. With this in mind, the series is entirely free for competitors. There is a free BBQ lunch and absolutely no entry fees, so anyone can sign up to compete in one of the three divisions: 14 and under, 15 and over and Pro-Am. The top 7 skaters from the 14 - and 15 + divisions go home with loads of prizes while the Pro-Am division winners receive prizes as well as cold hard cash. All the winners also receive invites to this year’s WITP Championships going down in Phoenix, AZ Sat Oct 2 ($25,000 cash purse)! The Wild in the Parks is a great environment for everyone to hang out, eat some free food, skate, support their friends, and go home with a ton of free prizes!
