THE CAPE CRUSADE / CONVERSE CONS / CAPE TOWN

In December 2014 Converse CONS European team riders Remy Taveira, David Stenstrom and Jerome Campbell travelled to Cape Town, South Africa. Alongside them was photographer Nils Svensson who came to document a week of skateboarding and exploration on the Cape peninsula, at the southern tip of the African continent.

CONS Project Cape Town - as part of the CONS Project series, they came to meet and skate with the locals at DIY spots, a local skatepark and a uniquely constructed CONS obstacle where photography and video workshops took place.

En diciembre del año 2014, El equipo Europeo de Converse Cons, los riders, Remy Taveira, David Stenstrom y Jerome Campbell viajaron a Cape Town, en Sudáfrica. Conjuntamente con el fotógrafo Nils Svensson que se pasó a documentar esta semana de exploración por la península del Cabo, en el sur del continente Africano.
El proyecto, Cons Cape Town como parte de una serie de Converse, donde se encuentran con skaters locales y spots hechos por ellos mismo, así como un skatepark local y un modulo hecho exclusivamente por los de Cons para fotografiar y filmar en un taller que se hizo.

POLAR SKATE CO. X CONVERSE CONS / AMSTERDAM LAUNCH AT BEN-G

For the launch of the Converse CONS x Polar Skate Co. Capsule collection at Ben-G Skateshop in Amsterdam we teamed up to do a very special #BYOBSS on the sunday inspired by Polar's Manhattan Days video.We started out with a tight crew at Ben-G for a proper brunch, skated the alleyway and then went on to charge through the city with a few makeshift obstacles donated by Converse CONS to make spots more skate able. Eventually we ended up at the #BYOBSS HQ Olympiaplein to have a final sesh with the new obstacles, mucho beers and a proper BBQ. Many thanks to all those who came out and Converse CONS for supporting this event.Riders: David Stenstrom, Kevin Rodrigues, Willem van Dijk, Noah Bunink, Bastiaan van Zadelhoff, Harmen Bazuin, Simon de Boer, Tycho Henskes, Federico da Fies, Othmar van Rijswijk.

Para el lanzamiento de Converse CONS X Polar , la colección en colaboración con Polar, Hicieron una presentación en la tienda Ben-G en Amsterdam, se juntaron para hacer un especial #BYOBSS el sábado inspirado por Manhattan Days. Empezaron saliendo de la tienda Ben-G para tomar un almuerzo-desayuno, patinando los callejones aledaños,  para luego darle caña a la ciudad, con algunos obstáculos donados por Converse CONS, para hacer los spots más patinables. Eventualmente en el #BYOBSS HQ Olympiaplein, para tener una sesión final, con nuevos obstáculos, muchas cervezas y una Barbacoa apropiada. Muchas gracias para aquellos que vinieron y converse por apoyar este evento. MANHATTAN DAYS / POLAR & CONVERSE

Manhattan Days is a film composed by Pontus Alv celebrating the Converse Cons Polar Skate Co. CTAS Pro and featuring Cons and Polar riders Aaron Herrington, Kevin Rodrigues, David Stenström, Jerome Campbell, Dane Brady and Pontus himself.
Taking inspiration from back in the day when you skated all over the city we carted around some East Coast style plates and a pole jam in a skateable shopping cart and just let the skating happen. Enjoy.

JAVIER MENDIZABAL / CONVERSE , CONS / TXABOLISM

To welcome Javier Mendizabal to Converse Cons he worked with his long time friend Fred Mortagne to produce Txabolism. A little film inspired by the creative partnership they've both shared for many years skating and filming all over the world together.
The name Txabolism comes from another old friend of Javier's, the artist Fernando Elvira. They used travel and hang out a lot when Javi first started skating and Fernando published his first skate photos in 360 Magazine that he used to run. It was on these small budget travels, often sleeping rough where the nickname Txabolo was first attached to Javi. Txabolo is Spanish slang for a shack built from junk found in the street, and Javier and Fernando spent time living in one while homeless in Hawaii many years ago.

Javier chose the name Txabolism as a way of saying thank you to his old friend for the inspiration to live out his creative passions today: skateboarding, travelling, making art and shooting photos.

Para dar la bienvenida a Converse Cons de Javier Mendizabal, el ha trabajado con su compañero Fred Mortagne para producir Txabolism. Un pequeño film creado en colaboración mostrando lo que ellos han compartido durante  muchos años patinando y filmando por el mundo entero.
El nombre de Txabolism viene otro viejo amigo de Javier, el artista Fernando Elvira. Ellos solían trabajar y salir juntos cuando Javi empezó a patinar y Fernando sacó sus primeras fotos en la revista 360 skate que solia llevar. Fue en uno de esos pequeños viajes de tirado, a lo bruto donde el nombre Txabolo se le quedó fijado a Javi. Txabolo es una pequeña vivienda hecha de basura y de cosas encontradas en la calle, y Javier y Fernando pasaron tiempo viviendo en una mientras estaban en Hawaii hace muchos años...
